ACKNOWLEDGEMENT of country
SCCSA acknowledges the Sunshine Coast Country, home of the Kabi Kabi and the Jinibara peoples, the Traditional Custodians, whose lands and waters we all now share.
We recognise that these lands and waters have always been places of cultural, spiritual, social and economic significance. The Traditional Custodians’ unique values, and ancient and enduring cultures deepen and enrich our community's lives.
We pay respect to their Elders – past, present and emerging, and acknowledge the important role First Nations people continue to play within the Sunshine Coast community.
About SCCSA
A Brief History of SCCSA
The Sunshine Coast Churches Soccer Assn was established on 14th September 1974, and we became incorporated on 18th November 1988.
Various churches had seen the need for a Saturday soccer competition for some time. In mid-1974, representatives from churches were invited to the informal discussion, and an Association was established. A general meeting was held on 15th November 1974. The Association covered from Caloundra to Cooroy -Noosa recruiting got underway to form two competitions under 10 years and an under 13 years and started with approximately 140 playing members.
SCCSA today
Today we have over 3500 junior members and 500 senior male and female players. We provide players with the opportunity to play and develop their soccer skills in safe alcohol and drug-free environments on Friday night and Saturdays. We have 19 clubs covering the entire Sunshine Coast region: Caloundra to Noosa and west to Nambour and the Range.
